Call for Book Chapters and Edited Volumes

Vera Academic Press invites proposals for edited volumes and individual book chapters to be published as peer-reviewed scholarly books within its publication series.

The Press welcomes contributions that demonstrate academic rigor, originality, and relevance to contemporary debates in education, social sciences, and related interdisciplinary fields.

1. Publication Scope

Proposals and chapter submissions should align with the thematic scope of the Press and its publication series, including but not limited to:

  • Learning societies and lifelong learning

  • Educational research and practice

  • Educational leadership and policy

  • Social and cultural dimensions of learning

  • Research methods in education and social sciences

  • Interdisciplinary approaches to learning and society

2. Edited Volumes

Proposals for edited volumes should include:

  • A clear description of the volume’s academic focus and contribution

  • A provisional table of contents

  • An overview of the editorial approach and coherence of the volume

  • Brief information about the volume editor(s)

  • A tentative list of contributors (where available)

Edited volumes are subject to editorial screening and double-blind peer review at both the volume and chapter levels.

3. Book Chapter Submissions

Individual chapter submissions are considered as part of edited volumes approved by the Press.

Each chapter must represent an original scholarly contribution and will undergo double-blind peer review independently of other chapters in the volume.

4. Peer Review and Editorial Process

All proposals and submissions undergo:

  1. Initial editorial assessment

  2. Double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers

  3. Editorial decision based on scholarly merit and reviewers’ reports

Publication is not guaranteed.

5. Copyright, Licensing, and DOI

Upon acceptance for publication:

  • Authors are required to sign the Publishing Agreement and transfer copyright to Vera Academic Press

  • Published books and chapters are released under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license

  • Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are assigned to:

    • Each edited volume

    • Each individual book chapter

DOIs are registered through Crossref to ensure persistent identification and reliable citation.

6. Submission Procedure

Authors and volume editors interested in submitting proposals or chapters should:

  1. Review the Author Guidelines, Publication Ethics, and Publishing Agreement

  2. Register on the Vera Academic Press publishing platform

  3. Submit proposals or manuscripts through the Open Monograph Press (OMP) system

  4. Clearly indicate whether the submission is:

    • An edited volume proposal, or

    • A chapter submission for an approved edited volume

7. Language of Publication

Vera Academic Press accepts submissions in English and other languages.

For non-English publications, authors are strongly encouraged to provide an English title, abstract, and keywords to support international discoverability.
