Editor Agreement

This Editor Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into between Vera Academic Press (“Publisher”) and the undersigned editor (“Editor”).

By accepting an editorial role, the Editor agrees to the following terms and conditions:


1. Scope of Appointment

The Editor is appointed as:

  • ☐ Series Editor

  • ☐ Volume Editor (Edited Volume)

The appointment relates to editorial responsibilities within the scope defined by the Publisher and does not constitute employment.


2. Editorial Responsibilities

The Editor agrees to:

  • Manage submissions within the assigned scope or volume

  • Coordinate the peer review process in accordance with the Publisher’s double-blind peer review policy

  • Recommend editorial decisions based on reviewer reports and scholarly merit

  • Ensure compliance with the Publisher’s editorial, ethical, and submission guidelines

  • Maintain confidentiality throughout the editorial process

The Editor does not have authority to make final publication decisions.


3. Editorial Independence and Ethics

The Editor shall perform all duties with academic integrity, impartiality, and independence.

The Editor agrees to:

  • Avoid conflicts of interest

  • Declare any potential competing interests

  • Refrain from using unpublished material for personal advantage

  • Comply with the Publisher’s Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement


4. Publisher’s Role

The Publisher retains full authority over:

  • Final acceptance or rejection of submissions

  • Assignment of reviewers

  • Production, publication, and distribution of works

  • Copyright, licensing, and commercial exploitation of published works

Editorial recommendations provided by the Editor are advisory in nature.


5. Copyright and Intellectual Property

The Editor acknowledges that:

  • Copyright in published works is transferred to the Publisher under the Publishing Agreement signed by authors

  • The Editor acquires no ownership, copyright, or financial interest in the published works by virtue of editorial involvement


6. Compensation

The editorial role is performed on an academic service basis.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the Editor shall not receive financial compensation or royalties for editorial activities.


7. Term and Termination

This Agreement becomes effective upon acceptance by the Editor.

The Publisher may terminate the appointment at any time in cases of:

  • Breach of ethical standards

  • Failure to perform editorial duties

  • Conduct detrimental to the integrity or reputation of the Press

The Editor may resign by providing written notice to the Publisher.


8. Use of Name and Affiliation

The Editor grants the Publisher permission to list the Editor’s name, affiliation, and role on the Press website and in related materials for the duration of the appointment.


9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Türkiye.

Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Türkiye.


10. Acceptance

By accepting the editorial role through the Publisher’s system or by written confirmation, the Editor agrees to the terms of this Agreement.
